Our History
Next Level Generation was formed in Parramatta in the early 2000s as a performing arts company by our Founder and Director, Dr Robyn Kassas. Seeing the potential in each child, Dr Robyn, together with Artistic Director, Choreographer and Principal Performer Dr Nathan Kassas, grew NLG Performing Arts into a trusted name in both the community and the professional performing arts world.
Dr Robyn’s vision was to strengthen the community, particularly young people, by offering a hand up rather than a handout. With this vision at its heart, NLG offered professional performing arts tuition completely free of charge, giving young people a sense of purpose, a positive place to go and an opportunity to express their creativity.
NLG trained thousands of kids and teens in dance, drama and singing, and its performance team was sought after for the Sydney Royal Easter Show and other major events, festivals, school arts programs, private functions and international showcases. Some alumni have gone on to become professional artists. NLG also worked extensively with disadvantaged communities and people with disabilities, bringing joy and hope into the lives of many.
NLG Performing Arts also hosted hundreds of workshops, taking performing arts beyond the studio. These took place across Sydney and regional New South Wales, as well as overseas in Kenya, Malaysia and the Solomon Islands.
Today, NLG has developed into a community sports organisation. Our coaches focus on building confidence, strength and fitness in a safe, positive and engaging environment. We give kids access to group training across a variety of sports, professionally led fitness classes and skill development workshops. As always, everything we offer is free to the community, ensuring all children have the opportunity to participate, grow and receive that same hand up through sport.
